The text, written by the poet Jorge Luis Borges at the age of 85, when he felt close to death, describes the philosophy of the institution, originally called Mementos. Opened last summer, this restaurant bar where you can sample food and tropical cocktails using the concept of Latin nights Mementos first established in Toronto for five years.
Take time to live. Nobody can be against, even if it is not always possible. In any case, I allowed myself a good time, Good Moment, Tuesday night.

A little Salsa pleasures

Tables arranged along the walls leave a lot of floor space Hardwood look antiquated. Obviously, when the Fiesta takes after eating, there are plenty to dance.
After sipping a cocktail made from sugar cane alcohol, lime, I ordered some Venezuelan specialties: corn bread with feta cheese and cream cheese, and beef in a sauce (salsa) served with tomato beans black, fried plantains and rice. I really enjoyed myself.
Rereading the words of the menu on the urgency of living in the moment, I told myself that if I die tomorrow, I would at least try something different before I leave this world.
How else can I enjoy the moment?  I like listening to music, of course. Thank Goodness. There is only tropical music. Finally, it is not quite true. I of course, the playful rhythm of salsa and Merengue, but what I came most often to the ear was very different from what is normally played in clubs Latinos.
The menu music: rock, pop and Merengue house, all in Spanish. This is the type of Music that attracts a young crowd.

Free introduction to salsa

But that night, like every Tuesday at 9:00 PM, the salsa has taken its rightful place when Tony Rausseo, a native of Venezuela, gave his introductory courses. We also treated to an advanced course because his students, who were returning from a course with him at Hot Latin Salsa Dance School, boulevard Saint Laurent (Mega Salsa Night Club), have followed.
Tony taught us some moves with style. I understand why this teacher, who has been dancing since the age of eight, has a good reputation among his peers for being the best of what he does. As well as being patient and smiling; he knows how to communicate his pleasure to dance. We stayed after class to dance and drink a little.
In fact, the introductory course to the salsa does not cost anything. If you go back the other Tuesday, Tony suggests a contribution of 7 dollars. You pay if you want. And if you enjoy the experience, "said Tony, you may want to sign up for a session of classes at her school
Hot Latin Salsa. Because what matters to him is that you have a good time, that you have a good moment.
